One of the old Upanishads (say "oo-pah-nih-shahd") compares the body to a chariot. The senses are its horses, the things they chase are the roads, the intellect is the driver, and the mind is the reins. When the reins hang loose, the horses pick the route. When they're held steady, the chariot actually gets where it's going. That can sound like an order to keep every appetite under armed guard, but a good driver isn't at war with the horses. He gives their strength somewhere to go. Your senses will find plenty of roads this morning: the notification, the pastry, the outrage waiting two scrolls down. Before you follow one, feel for the reins. Name where you meant to go, then make the next move point there.
