About
Empty Cup Daily is written and verified by a small team and a large discipline, not by a name we thought was worth putting on a masthead. The teaching matters more than the byline, so there is no byline.
Every quote here is checked against its primary source before it ships. Translators are named every time, never left as a footnote nobody reads. Stories with folk origins, the wandering Zen tales, the old parables, are labeled honestly as stories, not pinned on a historical figure who happens to sound wise.
There is no merch, and there will not be one. The email stays exactly as clean as the first one: one teaching, one quiet line beneath it, nothing else trying to sell you a tote bag. If this ever starts to feel like a funnel, we have already failed the only job it has.
Quoted translations come from named sources, credited every time they appear: Access to Insight and Thanissaro Bhikkhu (CC BY-NC), Buddharakkhita and the Buddhist Publication Society, James Legge (public domain), John Richards, Swami Madhavananda, and the official Sri Ramanasramam texts. Full citations travel with each quote in the archive of sources, not hidden behind it.
